He is considered by many, the inventor of numerous skateboarding maneuvers as kickflip, heelflip, flatground Ollie impossible, and 360-flip. Rodney received Choice Award from Transworld Skateboarding Readers, for the skater of the year in 2002. He was inducted into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame in may 2013.
